What Syd Needed
Born Yesterday had a font and a set of colors, and no website. Syd wanted a place to tell the bakery's story, especially where its grain comes from, and a way for people to order bread.
The site had to carry the bakery's personality, building out from that font and those colors. And ordering had to be easy for customers and for Syd, without a store to keep up on the site.
What I Built
Four pages, all leading to the bread. Home, Sourcing, Order and Contact. The Sourcing page tells the story of the bakery's local and organic grain, and every page points to ordering. Contact has a form, email, Instagram and a map to the bakery.
Ordering Syd already knows how to run. Instead of building a store into the site, "Order Now" sends customers to Born Yesterday's Square store. Syd manages products, pickup and payments in Square, so the site never needs updating when the menu changes.
How It Turned Out
I've hosted and maintained the site since launch, and I help Syd with updates and digital strategy as the bakery grows.
